The Role:

The Supplier Risk Management (SRM) team provides the business with a framework and guidance to support the business in the management of third party suppliers and associated risks.The Supplier Risk Management Specialist will work with the business and our outsourced partner to gather, collate and analyse supplier data and to produce regular reporting to risk forums and executive committees.  

Purpose Statements:

  • To support BSMs to identify and manage their supplier risks


  • To investigate and analyse supplier data to provide reports to senior management.



  • To liaise with key stakeholders and provide insight on supplier risk management activity



  • To support the team in operating the supplier Quality Assurance programme



  • To support the Head of Supplier Risk Management  and  the team, in the effective performance of their responsibilities and accountabilities.



Responsibilities:

  • To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in Prudential UK’s operational risk.
  • To gather and analyse data from a range of sources and stakeholders across the business to support the team in developing third party supplier reporting across M&G Prudential.
  • Work with outsourcing partner to provide regular reporting to committees/forums and senior stakeholders
  • Work closely and collaboratively with stakeholders across the business, delivering training and support, to influence increased SRM engagement. Support the team in developing the SRM framework across the broader M&G Prudential organisation
  • Support the team in conducting quality assurance on supplier management activity
  • To track and provide regular updates on progress of corrective actions




Knowledge Required:



  • Financial services regulatory and legislator frameworks

  • Knowledge of supplier risk management techniques, tools and governance requirements
  • Working knowledge of life and pensions products, markets and competitors
  • Working knowledge of industry best practice, good network/links with external bodies and individuals in the same field
  • Understanding of the Statements of Principle and Code of Practice
  • Working knowledge of Prudential products, systems and distribution methods


Experience Required:



  • Research and analysis



  • Risk and control frameworks, techniques and concepts



  • Regulatory and compliance environments



  • Analysing and interpreting complex data



  • Assurance and quality control activities



  • Liaising, influencing and negotiating effectively with internal stakeholders including senior stakeholders



  • Regulated environments within Financial Services



  • Risk identification, assessment and reporting, preferably in a supplier oversight capacity



  • Producing reports to senior management



Personal attribute/skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate to a range of stakeholders
  • Detailed analytical skills with the ability to cut through information and draw out key trends/ insight to support the development and improvement of SRM activity and deliverables
  • Ability to effectively challenge and influence business stakeholders


Professional Qualifications:

  • Relevant professional qualification e.g. CIPS/MCIPS desired but not essential
