We are looking for a Senior Systems Analyst to join our growing Global Digital Banking delivery team. This position will specialize within our Digital area where we offer global digital online and mobile banking client facing applications. T here will be opportunities to work on projects/initiatives within the Cards, Foreign Exchange, Global Payments and Onboarding areas.

Perform technical systems analysis associated with change requests, projects, assessments and escalated production issues. Responsible for technical assessments, analysis, requirements, data mappings, service contract mapping, configurations, testing and implementation of incremental enhancements/change requests and other minor releases to SVB's GDB systems, associated interfaces, processes and procedures.

Work closely with cross-functional business, technical and vendor teams to ensure delivery of the right-sized solutions to meet current, future and long-term needs in support of SVB's Digital systems. Responsible for end-to-end health and maintenance of assigned systems, including working closely with stakeholders to understand new capabilities and future roadmaps, and being able to apply this knowledge to solve for business needs and pain points.


  • Serve as a liaison with the business owners to facilitate the elicitation and prioritization of business/functional requirements including but not limited to interface design, user interface specifications and report design specifications. Act as a senior consultant to the business, striving to meet their business and compliance objectives with innovative, cost effective and efficient solutions, leveraging existing infrastructure and capabilities whenever possible.

  • Analyze and translate complex business requirements into a functional system design document. Technology and system related analysis using knowledge of current applications, interfaces and data structures to recommend solutions and provide input

  • Configure systems and develop expertise in system functionality and design

  • Understand points of interaction and impact on other systems across the enterprise

  • Understand client needs and pain points; recommend enhancements to release tracks

  • Provide support for system production issues and maintain documentation. Able to direct, with authority, remote team members to quickly resolve business critical production incidents successfully.

  • Assist in developing and executing test scripts

  • Perform and/or participate in testing releases prior to installing in production

  • Assist in developing training materials for system functionality

  • Assist with performing applications changes and configurations

  • Manage the installation of maintenance/patches and software upgrades

  • Convert application designs into data model and data mapping and service specifications

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to new systems analysts, when requested

  • Oversee proactive maintenance on our existing SaaS and on premise applications within the Digital space to ensure our mission critical systems remain stable, are able to scale as our business grows, and remain fit-for-purpose.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience with systems implementations and/or system enhancements

  • 3-5 years of experience working in information technology domain within Banking or Financial Services industry.

  • Specialized knowledge of Digital application development, payment processing systems, gateways and associated regulatory rules is highly desired.

  • In-depth knowledge of processing and rules for at least two of the following areas is desired: FX functionality, Cards functionality, Payments functionality: ACH, Fedwires, SWIFT, BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payments, SEPA and Euro wires.

  • Experience with production and disaster recovery systems/application support

  • Experience with development coding and relational database (SQL) queries is a plus.

  • Writing SQL queries and navigating databases will be required as part of troubleshooting or looking at data for the business.

  • Performs impact analysis of proposed changes on existing architecture, capabilities, system priorities, and technology solutions; looks for additional solution options or trade-offs. Identifies cost/benefit implications of proposed solutions (e.g. people, processes, technology, strategy, finance).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization

  • Ability to execute and prioritize a number of tasks, initiate and conduct meetings with team and peers.

  • Able work independently with minimal supervision

  • High attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Being able to communicate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders and clients.
