Reporting to the Senior Director of Security Governance, Risk and Compliance this role will be responsible for understanding and executing third party reviews as part of SVB's Vendor Risk Security Program. The Third Party Security Risk Manager will be someone that has a passion for evaluating security risk posed by vendor relationships along with internal SVB processes and technologies while empowering SVB’s culture of innovation and helping demonstrate SVB’s dedication to security of its clients. An ideal candidate is someone that has a passion for deepening their technical knowledge of the broad aspects of information security, not just checking the box, while working for a company that provides banking products and services to many of the world’s most innovative companies. This role requires a broad mix of business and technical acumen coupled with polished communication and a strong desire to learn.

This role is located in Tempe, AZ or Salt Lake City, UT.

Qualifications
  • Occasional travel may be required to perform on-site assessments.
  • Knowledge and understanding of security controls across all security domains such as access management, encryption methods, vulnerability management, network security, physical security, business continuity, etc.
  • Understanding of processes for risk evaluation and assessing third parties across diverse industries and against a range of security requirements
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal / written communications. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to all levels including executive management.
  • Strong negotiator with ability to influence others through effective collaboration.
  • Proven ability to coordinate work efficiently and effectively with business partners in local and remote locations.

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Information Security, Computer Science or similar field or equivalent work experience in IT audit information security or related field.
  • Must have 2+ years of work experience in Information Security, Audit, Risk, and/or Compliance. Open to experience in other relevant fields (i.e., finance, business administration, information technology, etc.) as along as candidate can demonstrate relevancy to this Information Security based role.
  • Working knowledge of banking regulations within risk management and bank-capital related disciplines.
  • Direct experience with regulated systems (GLBA, SOX, FFIEC, PCI-DSS) in the financial industry a plus.
  • Experience with GRC applications. Lockpath Keylight skills are desirable.
  • Previous Big 4 experience a plus.
  • Certified Third Party Risk Professional (CTPRP)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • Occasional travel may be required to perform on-site assessments.
