Technical Director - Security Data Engineer

About the Role We are looking for intellectually curious and driven individuals to join our team of talented security data engineers and create big data solutions for E*TRADE's Cloud Data platforms. On any given day you will:
Develop Big Data applications using technologies such as Python, Spark, Representational State Transfer (REST) Application Programming Interface (API), Hive, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Snowflake, Kafka, Druid, and various third party vendor applications.
Influence the maturity and growth of a cloud based data lake and supporting platforms and solutions to meet Fraud, Cyber, Compliance, AML, and other use cases The ideal candidate will:
Develop solutions to enable auditing and monitoring in our on premise and cloud platforms using common toolsets and solutions to build a common view
Work directly with product/data owners and end-users to develop solutions in a highly collaborative and agile environment
Partner with technology teams and data scientists to identify the proper platform(s) and big data solution set(s) to meet security and other firmwide use cases
Help grow and mentor team members on the fine art of security and data engineering
Passion for learning, growing, and mentoring in a team environment Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- At least 5 years of experience developing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) jobs, tables, and models in a Data Warehouse or Big Data environment
- At least 3 years working experience in AWS Cloud
- At least 3 years of experience with Python or Spark
- Basic qualifications above
- Masters degree or PhD
- At least 5 years of experience delivering analytical data warehouse solutions or fit for purpose data stores
- At least 5 years of experience working with Spark, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Structured Query Language (SQL), database design, and database modeling
