10 week summer internship program designed to challenge students interested in gaining hands-on experience with Nuveens businesses. 

The Global Strategy Intern will play a supporting role in advancing the growth of our equities and fixed income business. This will include ongoing research, analysis and support for new and existing strategies and client relationships. In addition, the Intern will assist in early stage research into new asset classes, business partners, markets, and geographies as avenues for growing the business. The Intern will actively work with the Global Strategy Group Analyst and is driven, able to learn on the job, and will be able to contribute immediately.


  • Develop an understanding of the firms investment strategies and capabilities
  • Assist in preparing proposals and presentations on new product ideas and strategies
  • Research new market and new product opportunities
  • Support reporting requirements for clients, especially as it relates to investment strategies and market updates


The candidate must be pursuing a bachelors degree from a highly selective college or university and have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, work well in teams, committed to ongoing learning, display intellectual curiosity, and have the drive to obtain on the job expertise. They also must be able to adapt to change and a variety of ad hoc requests; as well as have the ability to prioritize tasks and deliver on objectives within a given timeframe.

Required Skills (Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities to enter the job)

  • Currently pursuing a bachelors degree.
  • Graduating between December 2020 and August 2021
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or better

Desired Skills: (Preferred not required)

  • A liberal arts background is encouraged.
  • International experience is a plus; foreign language skills are also a plus.
  • Strong analytical and research skills; facility with data, numbers and math
  • Insatiable curiosity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently on projects and a self-starter
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization across multiple business areas
