Wellington Management Funds US is responsible for Wellington Management's US pooled-fund businesses and the day-to-day oversight of Wellington Trust Company (WTC), a limited-purpose trust bank, and Wellington Funds US (WFUS), which sponsors a suite of limited partnership vehicles. As of 30 June 2019, this business comprised of more than 260 commingled- funds, with client assets in excess of US$60 billion.

With pooled-fund vehicles playing an increasingly important role in the growth of Wellington Management's client relationships and assets under management, Wellington Management Funds US seeks a professional to join the team as a Business Analyst.

The Business Analyst will provide broad analytic support on behalf of WTC and WFUS, to include activities pertaining to corporate governance, day-do-day business management, and project-based work in support of the group's strategic objectives. The Analyst will play an important role in governance oversight and compliance monitoring of the many regulatory obligations for the funds and their investors. The role will require detailed execution across a broad range of business, regulatory, governance, and investment-related activities, as well as cross-functional project management.

Based in Boston, this individual will collaborate with various cross-functional teams to include the firm's legal and compliance, product management, tax services, fund administration, and client relationship management teams.


  • Performing monitoring responsibilities as required, e.g., regulatory and policy compliance, tracking of policy execution and exceptions

  • Support for the Wellington Trust Policy Committee and other committees of the Board

  • Preparation of regular oversight, management, and client reporting

  • Reviewing client-completed contractual agreements for investments in Wellington Trust pools.

  • Providing real-time analytics and guidance to client-facing and business personnel

  • Reviewing regulatory developments and their impact on business functions; assisting with regulatory filings/surveys, examinations and reviews

  • Participating in department- or firm-wide project-based initiatives

  • Performing recurring responsibilities in support of business growth

  • Developing, updating, and providing presentations for a variety of audiences.


  • Minimum of three years relevant experience in the financial industry, preferably in the investment management sector.

  • Outstanding analytical and organizational skills

  • High intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn

  • Experience working with mutual funds, bank-maintained, or other pooled vehicles is strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of bank regulations and fund compliance is preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong academic credentials are required

  • Ability to use technology to develop and enhance reporting

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Ability to identify, research, and resolve issues
