Senior Consultant - Technical Product Management
Senior Consultant - Technical Product Management (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Boston, Massachusetts ): Will manage multiple technical initiatives on multiple projects simultaneously; assess client needs and utilize technical expertise to identify solutions that are in alignment with the Company's current design; gather, analyze, and communicate strong technical solution skills from pre-sales to implementation of client solutions by influencing design with concrete facts and proven results in order to maintain system integrity for both clients and the Company; provide guidance to less experienced consultants on implementations and identify opportunities to allocate resources as needed; and demonstrate advanced understanding of CRIMS. Specific duties include: gather requirements from clients by setting up meetings with clients to understand the functional and technical requirements and feasibility of requirements within the application framework; analyze requirements and propose technical solutions based on the client's requirements, identify technical solutions that are within the CRIMS design and framework, and analyze and evaluate requirements while providing product expertise and guidance throughout the implementation project; prepare project plans with a timeline from start to finish covering all project phases, plan the resources with the team, and work on multiple client projects simultaneously; develop back office automation software using Java, Perl, and ETL/Kettle framework that will retrieve and insert data into databases; develop Crystal and SQL reports according to client requirements to be used in the application; integrate client legacy systems with the Company's investment platform and develop interfaces to exchange trading and security related information through files or direct interfaces; test the interfaces with the application to find bugs in interface codes and address them accordingly; promote the developed solution in the production environment and address post-production issues until the application is stable; customize the application by configuring the system parameters according to the client's needs and customize the existing interfaces according to specific client requirements by making changes to interface code; train new consultants on the application and guide them on projects until they are familiar with the application; analyze client systems and advise on the best practices in using the application and make recommendations on bridging the gaps in existing client systems; perform performance analysis of the application database using SQL tools to find problematic queries and optimize for better performance; assist the Pre-sales team and client's workflows within the application and demonstrate how the application can be used with existing client workflows; and update the current client systems for compatibility, develop software for interface design changes, and configure the application to utilize the new capabilities of the application.
Minimum requirements are: Master's degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical field plus 2 years of information technology industry experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field plus 5 years of information technology industry experience
Must have: Total number of years of experience above must include the following (can be gained concurrently): 1 year of experience with systems analysis work for financial services; and 2 years of specific technical experience with DOS, SQL, data formatting, and scripting technology. Must also have the following demonstrated ability (no specific number of years of experience required): demonstrated experience implementing financial systems within a bank, hedge fund or asset manager, or wealth management firm; proven hands-on experience implementing investment management software such as order management and compliance system; proven in-depth understanding of multi-tier technical architectures and relational database structures; proven solid knowledge of SQL, FIX, and Crystal Reports; demonstrated solid record of customer service to successfully understand customer needs and build effective relationships; demonstrated comprehensive understanding of Java, Perl, and ETL/Kettle; demonstrated experience conveying plans, issues, and concerns to clients and team members in a clear, logical and concise manner as well as the ability to influence key decision makers both internally and externally; proven ability to work within a team environment while remaining focused on providing high quality service to the customer; demonstrated experience testing interfaces to find bugs in interface codes and addressing them accordingly; strong time management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; and strong problem solving/analytical skills.
