Support the fixed income and equity trading desk with daily responsibilities and any special projects. In addition, the role involves the wider support of the Investment Management department on a daily basis with interactions between various business partners, both internal and external.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the input of trades and resolve trade related issues (including completing compliance forms, trade maintenance)
  • Assist with the delivery of various daily reports (including, cash, money market and daily trades)
  • Collating market data for investments management & trading departments.
  • Assist with the completion of paperwork such as liquidity reports, cross-trade forms, and new-issue allocation forms
  • Providing key parties such as portfolio managers, analysts, traders, sales persons with trading statistics & information
  • Support Bank Loan Specialists, Traders, Portfolio Managers and Analysts
  • Other Ad Hoc administrative support responsibilities and projects as required
  • Development of skills via on the job training from various business partners (including traders and other investments professionals)
  • Work experience using industry standard systems including Aladdin (Order Management System), Barclays Point, Bloomberg, FactSet

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an internship at a financial services firm is required for this role, the ideal candidate will have completed at least one other Co-op placement
  • Microsoft Office Suite, which includes Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and oral communication skills required
  • Effective time management and ability to multi-task
  • Accountable
  • Self-starter, easy going, must be willing to take direction, detail oriented, ability to organize workload and work within designated time frames
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently and work effectively with other individuals and or departments
  • Intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic
