Associate Director, Software Engineering

What you'll work on:
  • Manage multiple scrum teams that are responsible for designing and delivering application or Restful services used to collect and curate data
  • Develop high-performing, scalable and resilient services that are logically consistent and easy to consume
  • Develop and maintain SSIS packages for internal and external feeds
  • Utilize modern development techniques, including continuous integration, automated testing, and continuous deployment
  • Responsible for ensuring services are available and responsive
  • Utilize tools, such as SOLR, Selenium, Cucumber, Powershell, GitHub, JIRA, TeamCity, Swagger and Splunk
  • Provide technical guidance
  • Design and create databases, tables, views or functions as required
  • Create and publish helpful, easy-to-understand, thorough technical documentation, including example code

What we look for:
  • Excellent collaboration skills, and a desire to share
  • Experience with C#, Python, Java, or a similar modern language
  • Experience with Angular (Typescript)
  • SQL / relational database expertise is required
  • Must be familiar with at least one data integration tool
  • Experience with robust API frameworks to deliver mission critical, performance, highly available services
  • AWS cloud experience is a plus, including EC2, Load Balancers, S3, and Route 53
  • Networking, including firewalls, proxy servers, security groups, virtual private clouds, subnets, and VPN gateways
  • Experience working with offshore teams
  • Educational background in computer science, and experience coding and supporting actual production systems
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Experience with Microservices and lambda is a plus
  • SQL Performance tuning experience is a plus
  • Financial services / fin-tech experience is a plus
  • Data security background is a plus
