Software Engineer
DESCRIPTION: Design and develop web and server side applications, and complex multi-threaded applications. Work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to develop multi-tier application. Demonstrate excellent understanding of Object Oriented and component based software development and experience using design patterns. Use frameworks like Spring, JUnit and Mockito, and design complex reports using Actuate and Oracle database. Work with Unix servers and manage TBs of NAS storage along with writing complex Unix and Shell scripting. Use knowledge of business and technical understanding of Equities, Options, referential data and Risk development. Use knowledge of Fix Messaging Protocol and MQ Messaging. Utilize expertise in using Weblogic and Tomcat servers, and Production and Infrastructure management. No direct reports, and no managerial duties, or responsibilities. Individual contributor level position only.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.

Experience: 5 years of progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered, or in a computer-related occupation.

Special skills: Position requires one year of work experience in the following:

  1. Java, J2EE and Spring framework in a complex multi-tiered environment;
  2. Designing web applications using JQuery, Ajax, HTML and Javascript;
  3. Working with Unix Server, Shell scripting, Junit, Autosys, PL/SQL, weblogic and Tomcat;
  4. Working with Multi-Threading, Messaging and Rest Services;
  5. Working as a technologist for the Prime Brokerage line of business and understanding of the firms reporting technologies and entitlements to generate and produce reports;
  6. Electronic Trading Risk Management, and credit and market risk knowledge for equity and equity options products; and,
  7. Designing complex reports.
