Brookfield Property Group (BPG) is Brookfield's most significant investment platform, made up of sector-specific operating platforms in the office, retail, multifamily, industrial and hotel asset classes. With approximately $188 billion of property assets under management, BPG is one of the world's largest and most sophisticated owners, operators and investors in real estate.

The Multifamily group owns ~$14B in AUM across 58,000 units and is comprised of an Asset Management team and Investment team. The Asset Management team includes individuals specializing in operations, involved in the day to day of the properties we manage, and a portfolio management team, focused on budgeting, valuations, and executing on capital events such as financings and dispositions. Within the portfolio management team, we currently have a Director of FP&A responsible for handling all finance and accounting matters pertaining to the sector, onboarding new investment teams/partners, and acting as the point of contact between various Brookfield stakeholders and our outside partners.

Position Summary



The Multifamily Asset Management team is looking for a motivated individual with accounting and finance experience to work with the Director of FP&A. The analyst will be responsible for supporting the Director of FP&A to successfully act as main point of contact for the portfolio companies on forecasting, financial reporting, capital planning, valuations and business planning preparation and review, as well as portfolio board processes, performance queries, and other special projects. The individual will be responsible for coordinating and collaborating with multiple teams and departments, interacting with all levels of the organization. The role will report to the Director of FP&A.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the flow of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deliverables from the Brookfield public team (BPY) and the Brookfield private funds (BSREP, BPREP) to and from our partners

  • O v er s ee a nd r e v i e w q u ar t e rl y / a n n u al f i n a n ci al r e p or t i n g su b m i ss i o n s b y p o r t f o l i o c o m p a n i es prepared in accordance with IFRS standards, and opine on accounting queries
  • P r e p are a n d p r e s e nt q u a r t e rl y re s u l ts pre s e nt a t i on to Br o o k f i e l d s e n i or m a n a g e m e n t
  • Review quarterly private fund valuations; includes review of i n v e s t m e n t p er f or m a n c e tra c k re c ord a n d a n y c h a n g es t o re t urns and asset valuations for select portfolios, completion of valuation PowerPoint presentations for senior management

  • Prepare semi-annual presentations for senior management team on investment performance
  • Work with investor relations/communication teams to update Brookfield website, prepare annual investor day asset updates and PowerPoint presentations, respond to ad hoc investor queries, update quarterly asset case studies, and prepare quarterly investor call PowerPoint presentations on select assets
  • Work with compliance team to ensure quarterly compliance report and schedule of affiliate fees is completed by all assets on a timely basis
  • Manage the quarterly portfolio board process for each Multifamily asset; includes setting up meetings with our partners and the board, managing the relationship with the partners to ensure materials are received on time and comply with necessary deliverables, review draft PowerPoint presentations
  • Continue to establish new processes for the Multifamily Asset Management team and for our partners that make data aggregation more efficient
