Based on GFT driven portfolio strategy, Project Head III is responsible for planning, development, execution, management of the assigned Projects to achieve strategic and operational objective set up by Senior Director, Ocular Health in their assigned area of the project.
Provides leadership to the project team with clear direction and guidance.
Organizes, coordinates and manages cross-functional project work. Ensures high performance execution of key milestones.
Partners with Management/PPM to create a regular status communication strategy.
Project Head III will work with Senior Director, Ocular Health, Heads of Functional areas, internal/external stakeholders, and play a leadership role developing and foster collaborative relationships.
The Project Head III will support the Senior Director, Ocular Health, and Franchise Head in product development strategy bringing strong technical expertise in specific technical fields (pharma and medical devices).
To serve as key point of contact for all project information, including the preparation of key project/portfolio information and maintaining project documentation.
Support Development in interactions with external stakeholders (e.g., regulatory authorities, key opinion leaders, Scientific advisory boards, internal stakeholders (e.g., Research, Exploratory Development, Global Clinical & Medical Affairs, Marketing, BD&L etc.), and internal governance.
Ensure all functions supporting the project team are adequately resourced.
Elevate issues to Senior Management as required.
Accountable for developing realistic project budget forecasts and timely flagging of budget variations with rationale.
Based on Complexity of project or based on where project is in development timelines, Project Head III is typically responsible for strategic projects and may manage multiple projects.
Management of medium to large scale projects in compliance with Stage-Gate process.
Project head is expected to be a project driver and have a good understanding of science in the assigned therapeutic area. Needs to have a solid sense of urgency.
Strong project management, interpersonal, communication, negotiation and problem solving skills.
Considerable organization awareness (e.g., inter-relationship of departments, business priorities), including significant experience working cross-functionally and in global teams.
Monitor progress versus plan, identify problems and deviations, take corrective action, track total cost versus budget and control spending within approved limits.
Mentor and Coach less experienced Project Heads on Project Leadership best practices, and provide guidance as needed.
Provide inputs to Head of Projects on adoption of tools, methodologies to improve productivity and processes
A project driver having a strong sense of urgency, and a technical expert in specific technical fields.
Demonstrates ability to work independently and under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals.
Possess a comprehensive knowledge of technical specialization and the organization's practices. Applies this knowledge to the completion of complex assignments.
Executes on Project Pipeline deliverables, based on project stage assignment, contributions to Proof of Concept, Approvals, support of launches in regions.
Quality of results delivered in a timely manner: key milestones, filing approvals, and proofs of concept.
Cross-Functional collaboration in project governance, stage gate execution, including design control activities, Centers of Excellence (Clinical, Regulatory), the Research function, Manufacturing, Quality and outside contractors.
Is able to lead a major project/program in a fast paced, cross functional environment.

Project Head III
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs).
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.
