An industry-leading, multinational Asset Manager is determined to expand its market risk team to support their Commodity Trading Desk. The Asset Manager currently oversees more than $500B AUM and has one of the most established presence's in the Commodity Industry. Due to the diversity and complexity of the products the company trades, the market risk team is tasked with challenging responsibilities, but plays a crucial role in the overall desk performance.

The Asset Manager currently oversees over $500B AUM and has one of the most established presence's in the Commodity Industry. Due to the diversity and complexity of the products the company trades, the market risk team is tasked with challenging responsibilities, but plays a crucial role in the overall desk performance.

The Market Risk team is responsible for setting, monitoring and enforcing risk limits across all commodity trading areas. This role is very front office facing, as the Market Risk team works closely with the traders and portfolio managers to confirm that the apparent risks from new venture are fully understood and appropriately constrained. In addition, the market risk team and traders engage regularly to develop optimal trading strategies.

The Market Risk Analyst will:

  • Set and enforce limits across the trading areas of the group
  • Monitor the trading desk risk exposure relative to their positions within the global energy markets
  • Report risk metrics to senior management, including the Managing Director that oversees the trading desk
  • Ensure that the trading systems adequately represent the risk appetite of the trading books
  • Assess the appropriateness of mathematical derivative pricing models corresponding to real-world market conditions

Qualified Candidates will have:

  • 1-5 years of prior experience and exposure to energy markers
  • MS Excel Skills
  • Experience with Power & Gas is preferred, but those experienced with other resources will still be fairly considered
  • At minimum, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited University
