Hays has partnered with a large, complex public sector organisation delivering a significant program of infrastructure and security modernisation. They are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst to support a broad portfolio of initiatives spanning networks, cyber security, cloud and on-premises infrastructure, monitoring and observability, resilience and operational transformation.
Your new role
As the Senior Technical Business Analyst, you will work closely with the Senior Project Manager, Infrastructure & Security Domain Architect, Solution Architects, engineers and operational stakeholders to translate complex business, technical and operational needs into clear and actionable requirements. A key focus of the role will be the development of complex business cases for significant infrastructure and security initiatives, including options analysis, benefits, costs, risks, dependencies and high-level Total Cost of Ownership considerations.You will also be responsible for:
- Eliciting and documenting functional and non-functional requirements
- Developing current-state and future-state process and system documentation
- Maintaining requirements traceability across design, build, testing and implementation
- Supporting solution options analysis and evaluating technical and operational impacts
- Contributing to operational plans and investment cases
To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience as a Technical Business Analyst delivering complex ICT initiatives, with a strong background in infrastructure and/or security projects. Critically, you will also bring proven experience developing comprehensive business cases for major technology initiatives.You will ideally demonstrate:
- Significant experience developing complex business cases and investment-related documentation
- Strong technical BA experience across complex ICT programs
- Knowledge of networks and connectivity, cyber security and identity
- Exposure to cloud and on-premises infrastructure platforms
- Understanding of monitoring, logging and observability tooling
- Knowledge of disaster recovery, resilience and service continuity considerations
- Strong functional and non-functional requirements experience
- Experience developing process models, requirements specifications and supporting artefacts
- Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
- The ability to work effectively with architects, engineers and other technical specialists
- Experience within large, complex organisations, with public sector experience highly regarded
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Project Management or a related discipline.
This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension, based in Brisbane CBD. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a large and technically complex Infrastructure & Security Modernisation program and work across a diverse range of critical technology initiatives.
