Are you a motivated and relationship-driven insurance professional looking to take the next step in your Underwriting Career? We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive
Underwriter to join our Melbourne Financial Lines team and support our growing Financial Lines portfolio.




About the role:



You will play a key role in managing and growing a Financial Lines portfolio by handling renewals, assessing and converting new business opportunities, and delivering responsive, high-quality service to brokers. You'll monitor portfolio performance, ensure compliance with underwriting and legislative requirements, stay across industry developments, and actively participate in market engagement and networking activities.




Responsibilities Include:

• Manage and service an existing Financial Lines portfolio, including renewals and mid-term adjustments


• Assess and underwrite new business opportunities in line with authority and guidelines


• Strengthen and maintain strong broker relationships through responsive and professional service


• Conduct portfolio reviews to monitor performance, profitability, and trends


• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, legislative requirements, and internal policies


• Attend networking events, broker meetings, and industry functions as required

About You:

• 2+ years' experience as a Financial Lines underwriter


• Strong understanding of the Australian insurance market.


• A commitment to following, applying, and interpreting underwriting guidelines.


• Strong commercial acumen and a determination to maintain a profitable portfolio.


• Positive, professional, and proactive attitude.


• Strong sales orientation, with confidence in pursuing and closing new business.
