This established Sydney-based business operates a diverse multi-entity group and is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Working closely with an experienced Head of Finance, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the finance function while supporting reporting, compliance and operational finance activities.
Based in the Eastern Suburbs, this is a hands-on role offering broad exposure across financial accounting, compliance, reporting, cash flow and business partnering.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and lodging BAS across multiple entities
- Preparing reconciliations and supporting schedules for consolidated reporting
- Assisting with audit and tax processes, including liaising with external accountants and auditors
- Completing month end activities including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting year end close and preparation of audit workpapers
- Assisting with cash flow forecasting and reporting
- Managing fortnightly supplier payment runs
- Reviewing payroll and superannuation payments for accuracy and compliance
- Supporting annual budgeting processes and preparing variance analysis
- Acting as a key point of contact for internal finance queries
- Providing ad hoc reporting and analysis to support business decision making
- CA or CPA qualified, or currently studying towards completion
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a Financial Accountant or Senior Accountant position
- Strong technical accounting skills across BAS, reconciliations and month end reporting
- Experience working within a multi-entity environment is highly regarded
- Strong Excel skills and exposure to Xero or similar accounting systems
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across the business
- Broad exposure across a multi-entity group structure
- Direct partnership with an experienced Head of Finance
- Diverse role spanning reporting, compliance and operational finance
- 12 month fixed term contract with immediate impact and responsibility
- The salary for the role is between $110k and $130k + super
