We're currently supporting a well-established financial institution in the search for a Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) at Senior Manager level.
This is a key leadership position within the financial crime function, offering strong visibility, regulatory exposure, and the opportunity to shape and enhance the AML framework within a growing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Deputy to the MLRO, providing representation internally and with regulators where required
- Support the ongoing development and enhancement of the AML/CFT framework (incl. GwG, §25h KWG)
- Review and assess suspicious activity and support decision-making on FIU filings
- Oversee CDD/EDD processes and ongoing transaction monitoring
- Advise the business on financial crime risks, including high-risk clients and transactions
- Contribute to risk assessments, controls, and internal policies
- Act as a key contact for audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions
- Work closely with Compliance, Risk, and Audit functions
- Support AML training and awareness initiatives across the organisation
- Involvement in new product approvals from a financial crime perspective
Your Profile
- Several years' experience in AML / Financial Crime / Compliance within banking or financial services
- Strong understanding of German AML regulation and supervisory expectations
- Hands-on experience with transaction monitoring / SAR reviews is beneficial
- Analytical, structured, and risk-focused mindset
- High level of integrity and stakeholder management ability
- Fluent German and solid English
