Your area of work:

The Non-Financial Risk, ICS & BCM Unit within Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) coordinates and oversees the non-financial risk management, internal control, and resilience activities of Eurex Clearing AG (ECAG). The team supports the identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of non-financial risks, the enhancement of the internal control environment, and the strengthening of operational resilience and business continuity capabilities across the organization.

As a Non-Financial Risk Manager, you will support business units in the identification, assessment and monitoring of non-financial risks across ECAG. Your responsibilities will include conducting risk assessments and scenario analyses, analyzing risk indicators and loss data, and preparing regular and ad-hoc risk reports for management. You will also contribute to the further enhancement of non-financial risk management frameworks, methodologies and tools.

Your responsibilities:

• Support business units in identifying non-financial risks and developing risk scenarios and corresponding risk indicators
• Act as a trusted advisor to ECAG business units, reviewing and challenging identified non-financial risks to ensure completeness, consistency, and proactive risk mitigation
• Assess non-financial risks through the analysis of risk indicators, internal/external loss data, and other relevant information
• Contribute to strengthening risk awareness and fostering a strong risk culture across the organization
• Support the enhancement and maintenance of the Internal Control System and maintain close alignment with business continuity and operational resilience activities
• Develop, maintain, and enhance risk management frameworks, methodologies, policies, and procedures
• Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports on non-financial risk exposures, loss events, and related issues
• Support the enhancement of risk management tools, including requirements definition, testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT)

Your profile:

• University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field
• 2-3 years of professional experience in operational risk management, internal control, or a related audit/consulting function, preferably within an international banking, financial market infrastructure (FMI), clearing, or securities processing environment
• Strong understanding of operational risk management frameworks and methodologies, including risk and control self-assessments (RCSA), scenario analysis, key risk indicators (KRIs), operational risk loss data management, and risk appetite frameworks
• Good understanding of quantitative and qualitative risk assessment methodologies, including risk quantification and stress testing techniques
• Good understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to operational risk management within financial institutions and financial market infrastructures (e.g. EMIR, DORA and KWG)
• Knowledge of operational risk capital methodologies and associated concepts (e.g. VaR, loss distributions and scenario-based approaches) would be considered an advantage
• IT affinity and experience with data analytics, business intelligence and process automation tools (e.g. Power BI and Power Automate) would be considered an advantage
• Strong analytical skills, creativity, critical thinking, ability to identify problems and propose solutions
• Ability to explain complex concepts to non-experts while maintaining both strategic and detail-oriented perspectives
• A strong team player with excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency in written and spoken English; fluency in German would be a plus
• Very good command of MS Office applications
