Aufgaben

Oversee financial accounting and finance operations for the German entity while supporting the wider European organization
Lead, develop and mentor a small finance team, ensuring high standards of performance and efficiency
Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes, including statutory financial statements under German GAAP (HGB) and support IFRS reporting / group consolidation
Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning and working capital management
Deliver accurate management reporting, financial insights and ad-hoc analysis to support strategic decision-making
Act as a trusted business partner to stakeholders across multiple functions and countries
Coordinate external audits and collaborate with auditors, tax advisors and regulatory bodies
Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements
Drive continuous improvement, automation and standardization of finance processes as well as controls

Profil

Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a comparable qualification (e.g. Certified Accountant, Bilanzbuchhalter IHK or equivalent)
In-depth experience in accounting and finance, including leadership responsibility
Strong knowledge of German statutory accounting (HGB) and German tax regulations, particularly VAT
Ideally initial experience in a regulated environment such as financial services, fintech, payments, banking or a similar industry is advantageous
Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and reporting
Strong systems knowledge such as Power BI, including ERP and reporting tools, with excellent Excel skills
Analytical mindset combined with commercial awareness and strong problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
Fluency in English is essential as well as a professional level of the German language
