Liberty Mutual Reinsurance (LM Re) is one of four core pillars (North America, LII, LM Re and Global Surety) that make up the Global Risk Solutions (GRS), business unit. LM Re is situated in all core global market hubs and offers treaty property, casualty and specialty products across key North America, South America, European, UK, Middle East, Asia Pacific, and other international locations.
We provide brokers and cedants with a broad product range through both the Company and Lloyd's markets and have approximately 200 employees in 13 offices around the world.
About the role:
The LM Re Operations Manager role plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, effectiveness and risk management of reinsurance business. The role provides day-to-day oversight in support of the Regional Director of Operations . This role ensures alignment with LM Re's strategic objectives and helps manage the effectiveness and risk posture of reinsurance business functions across the region. The Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating operational activity, driving consistent execution, and supporting the delivery of the Regional Director's priorities through strong operational discipline, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
• Deliver accurate, on-time underwriting and accounting support, leveraging tools to streamline and scale.
• Prioritise effectively to meet quality and drive continuous improvement.
• Govern policy, premium, and claims data, process technical accounts and management information.
• Integrate data from client/broker portals and maintain document management within relevant systems.
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
• Liaise with clients to provide financial information
Strategic Influence & Cross Functional Engagement:
• Drive continuous process improvement and communicate proposed initiatives to the Director of Operations.
• Extend key client and key broker management to include operational engagement and issue resolution.
• Partner with other functional areas including Operations across branches globally, Finance, Claims, Compliance/Sanctions, Underwriting, Transformation & Change and Data Office to ensure consistent execution and alignment.
• Support the development and enhancement of reporting processes, audits, KPIs, ICS controls, and operational guidelines.
Project Support:
• Initiate and lead operational projects and participate in relevant working groups, ensure alignment and effective execution
• Contribute to assigned strategic initiatives, supporting delivery through analysis, documentation, and coordination.
Team Development & Leadership:
• Leading a team of direct reports effectively by setting strategic goals, providing regular coaching and feedback, identifying development gaps, mentoring and leading by example whilst ensuring adequate communication across the team.
• Align and work with Operations teams across all regions to ensure data, administrative and operational issues impacting the business unit are identified and resolved.
• Monitor and manage the day-to-day workload of individuals and the team.
• Ensure the team are meeting agreed SLAs & KPIs for onshore and offshore tasks and manage improvement of individuals as necessary.

• Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LM Re's commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. Skills and Experience:
• Proven track record of relevant underwriting support and accounting experience in reinsurance.
• Leadership and/or project leadership experience in reinsurance operations / preferred.
• Experience in the development of KPIs and setting up internal controls (ICS) and reporting for accounting and operations.
• Experience in the introduction of E-Processing via API and Flatfile Upload processes. Good verbal and written communication skills, in German and English.
• Excellent Data Processing and Analytics Skills.
• Computer Application literate, very good MS Office skills, in particular Excel.
• Advanced organisational skills and time management.
• International market experience preferred - proven ability to adapt strategies across regions and collaborate with cross-cultural teams.
