Associate — Trade Support and PM Support, Macro & Equities
DARMAX GLOBAL Hong KongAssociate — Trade Support and PM Support, Macro & Equities
A leading Asia-focused multi-manager hedge fund platform is hiring an Associate into its Investment Control team. This is the front-office-facing seat in the operations organisation — you sit closest to the portfolio managers and traders, and you are the link between the desk and everything behind it.
The role
- Manual trade capture and booking for macro instruments — rates, FX, credit — executed over chat and voice, including confirmation, allocation, and the downstream feed into risk and P&L
- Front-office-facing exception handling across the trade lifecycle for equities and derivatives
- ECM allocation and new-issue support for the equity long/short and market-neutral portfolio managers during live deal periods
- Ad-hoc PM support: bespoke reporting, position enquiries, corporate-action clarifications, cross-office coordination
- Acting as the shock absorber between the desks and the wider Investment Control, reconciliation and systems teams
- Contributing to process improvement and light automation, with the systems automation team
You will have
- ~5 years in trade support, middle office, trade control, or PM-facing operations. Buy-side or sell-side — both are equally welcome
- Real comfort in a high-volume, high-tempo, multi-tasking environment. This is a reactive, PM-facing seat and it suits someone who likes it that way
- Working knowledge of the equities trade lifecycle — capture, allocation, break management, corporate actions
- Manual macro instrument booking (IRS, NDFs, FX forwards, CDS, TRS) is a strong plus; genuine willingness to learn it is essential
- Confident, calm and diplomatic communication with portfolio managers and traders under pressure
- Professional English (Mandarin or Cantonese useful for the Shanghai and Taipei desks)
- Right to work in Hong Kong at the point of offer, or a strong track record of employer-sponsored Hong Kong visas
Why apply
First-line proximity to a large and growing roster of portfolio managers across market-neutral, long/short, single-country, macro and quantitative strategies — unusually broad exposure for an associate seat. First-line coverage of a brand-new macro build-out, with genuine scope to define the seat as it scales. A reporting line into a senior Investment Control lead with clear line of sight into the COO organisation. An institutional-grade platform with active investment in modernisation, and a business that has grown from a few hundred million to several billion in five years — operations people here have moved into risk, product control and PM-support leadership as it scaled.
