Our client is looking for a commercially driven Director to join their Business Management function, with a dedicated focus on equities and equity-related products. This role serves as the strategic bridge between the Equities Front Office, external counterparties, and internal support functions.
This position is heavily centred on business enablement and revenue enhancement within the equities space. The successful candidate will leverage deep Equities Prime Services experience to drive commercial initiatives, optimise counterparty relationships, and ensure the firm's trading infrastructure evolves in lockstep with business growth objectives across cash equities, equity derivatives, and structured products.
This is a high-visibility, high-impact role requiring a candidate who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, dynamic trading environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equities-Focused Commercial Strategy: Spearhead the execution of key business development initiatives aimed at expanding the firm's equities trading footprint, product capabilities, and operational efficiency across APAC markets.
- Front Office Partnership: Act as the primary strategic partner to Equities Portfolio Managers and traders. Oversee the seamless onboarding of new investment professionals and ensure infrastructure teams are aligned to support equities trading strategies effectively, including complex derivative structures.
- Equities Prime Services & Counterparty Management: Leverage deep Equities Prime Services expertise to manage and strengthen relationships with prime brokers, executing brokers, and other equities-focused counterparties. Proactively identify opportunities to improve financing terms, enhance margin efficiency, optimise securities lending, and unlock new trading capabilities that directly impact the firm's P&L.
- Product Innovation: Work closely with the Front Office to identify and implement new equities product offerings, trading venues, and execution strategies. Keep abreast of market structure changes, including exchange developments, clearing updates, and regulatory shifts affecting equities markets.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the key conduit between the Equities Front Office and internal infrastructure departments (Operations, Legal & Compliance, Finance, Technology). Address queries, resolve trading-related issues, and drive cross-functional collaboration to remove roadblocks and streamline post-trade workflows.
- Data Analytics & Reporting: Generate and present actionable business intelligence, equities performance metrics, and strategic reports to Senior Management and the Equities Front Office to support data-driven decision-making.
- Market & Regulatory Surveillance: Stay ahead of equities market developments, regulatory changes (e.g., short-selling rules, disclosure requirements), and industry trends. Identify potential opportunities and risks, providing timely recommendations to management on strategic pivots or operational adjustments.
