Role Overview

A Hong Kong financial-services firm is looking for a Middle Office specialist to run day-to-day operations for its equity finance business. You'll sit at the center of the trading workflow - covering order handling, trade capture, execution support, and custody - while working hand-in-glove with the back office on settlement and clearing across listed instruments such as swaps, futures, options, and other derivatives. It's a hybrid role: part operations management, part process design, part client service.

What You'll Do

• Oversee daily running of the trading platform across order management, trade capture/execution, and custody workflows for equity finance products, coordinating closely with back office on settlement and clearing.
• Build and maintain KPIs that track operational efficiency, client satisfaction, and overall business performance.
• Define a target operating model and lead rollout of procedures across trading platforms, including contingency and fallback processes.
• Continuously refine operational workflows, identifying gaps and documenting controls (e.g., producing a detailed process manual covering the full workflow).
• Manage corporate action bookings on swaps and related hedges, ensuring entitlements are captured accurately and on time in risk and booking systems.
• Handle the full range of client trading-account matters - from onboarding through funding, margin, and stock/cash movements.
• Partner with technology teams to enhance platform capabilities and support smooth integration between internal and third-party systems.
• Work alongside risk and finance teams on operational controls and the annual fund audit.
• Take on ad hoc projects such as investor due diligence and broker onboarding.
  
  
  

As a successful candidate, you'd ideally have the following skills and exposure:

• University degree in Business, Finance or related field.
• 7-10 years of experience in Middle Office/Operations roles in traditional finance with solid exposure to trading operations.
• End to end knowledge and expertise in supporting Delta One products; ETFs, Equity Swaps, Futures and Forwards. Equity Finance Trading Desk experience will be highly beneficial.
• A deep understanding of life-cycle trade capture and processing, Corporate Actions, Settlements, and Reconciliations.
• Client Service experience preferred, preferably within Prime Brokerage.
• Proven track record in building and managing Middle Office/Operations teams at an enterprise multi-office scale.
• Experience in operating in a licensed and regulated financial service environment; ideally prior exposure to dealing with regulators.
• Excellent organizational and leadership ability, highly motivated with a "can do" attitude, ability to multi-task.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Access, with VBA knowledge beneficial.
• Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
