Execution Trader - Long Only Fund
Location: Hong Kong
Overview:
A well-established long-only asset manager is seeking an Execution Trader to join its team in Hong Kong. The role reports directly to the head of Asset Management and will be responsible for equity trading activity across international markets while contributing to trading oversight, execution quality, and investment operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute equity orders across Asia markets, ensuring timely and efficient implementation of investment decisions.
- Support fixed income dealing activities, including bond and short-term liquidity instruments, as a secondary coverage resource when required.
- Monitor execution outcomes, trading costs, and allocation methodologies to uphold best execution standards and internal governance requirements.
- Deliver market updates, liquidity insights, and broker feedback to investment professionals to support portfolio implementation.
- Conduct pre-trade validation and post-trade reviews, including compliance controls, risk monitoring, and execution analysis.
- Coordinate with Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Technology teams on trading workflows, platform enhancements, testing initiatives, and process optimization.
- Maintain broker relationships, assess execution quality across counterparties, and support due diligence requests from investors, auditors, and regulators.
Requirements:
- 4-10 years of experience within equity execution, trading, or dealing functions.
- Experience gained within a buy-side asset management, wealth management, or institutional investment environment.
- Proficiency with Bloomberg AIMS, market data platforms, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin.
- Strong understanding of trading controls, market conduct standards, regulatory requirements, and execution governance.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of operating effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
