Our client is a forward-thinking organisation seeking an experienced IT Director, AI Infrastructure & Platform, to lead the strategy, architecture, and operations of its next-generation AI technology environment. This role will be responsible for defining and executing the organisation's AI infrastructure and platform strategy, ensuring a scalable, secure, and high-performing technology foundation to support AI model training, deployment, and enterprise-wide AI operations.

Your new role

• Define and drive the overall AI Infrastructure and AI Platform strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Lead the design, deployment, and operation of large-scale AI compute environments, including CPU, GPU, TPU, and accelerator-based clusters.
• Establish scalable platforms to support AI model training, inference, LLM workloads, and emerging GenAI use cases.
• Oversee AI platform engineering, container orchestration, and cloud-native infrastructure capabilities.
• Drive MLOps and platform automation initiatives to improve model deployment, monitoring, governance, and life cycle management.
• Lead infrastructure architecture across networking, storage, compute, and high-performance computing environments.
• Ensure platform reliability, performance, security, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Partner closely with Emerging Technology, AI Engineering, Data Centre, Cybersecurity, and Enterprise Architecture teams on strategic technology initiatives.
• Oversee internal infrastructure and platform teams while managing the performance and delivery of external vendors across software, hardware, cloud, and managed service providers.
• Establish operational governance, technology standards, capacity planning, and performance management frameworks for enterprise AI platforms.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's Degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, AI, Data Science, Engineering, Business Technology, or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in Infrastructure, Cloud, Platform Engineering, Data Centre, or Enterprise Technology leadership roles.
• Strong understanding of AI Infrastructure, High Performance Computing (HPC), and enterprise-scale AI platforms.
• Solid experience with CPU/GPU/TPU cluster architecture, capacity planning, workload scheduling, resource orchestration, and infrastructure optimisation.
• Experience managing distributed computing environments supporting machine learning, GenAI, and large-scale AI workloads.
• Strong knowledge of AI model life cycle management, MLOps, LLMOps, and AI platform engineering practices.
• Hands-on exposure to Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native platform technologies.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking, high-speed data transport, storage platforms, cybersecurity, and modern data centre infrastructure.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform such as Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Alibaba Cloud.
• Familiarity with AI training environments, model serving, inference platforms, vector databases, and enterprise AI deployment architectures.
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership experience, with the ability to influence technology strategy and investment decisions at senior executive levels.
• Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin). Candidates should currently be based in Hong Kong and possess valid working rights.
