Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain ROS2- and microROS-based robotics control software, ensuring reliable, scalable, and high-performance operation across advanced robotic platforms
- Design and optimise functional safety software, motion control algorithms, state machines, and embedded safety logic, ensuring compliance with CE and US industrial robotics safety standards
- Lead the integration of sensors, actuators, real-time control systems, and AI software to deliver intelligent, high-performance robotic solutions
- Drive system debugging, validation, troubleshooting, and on-site deployment, resolving complex embedded, force control, and manipulation challenges on Jetson and ARM platforms
- Partner with AI specialists and systems engineers to deliver stable hardware-software integration and successful end-to-end robotics projects
- Advance engineering excellence by enhancing development workflows, contributing to code reviews and best practices, and adopting emerging robotics technologies to drive continuous innovation
Candidate profile:
- Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related discipline, with 5+ years' experience developing robotics software in industrial, commercial, or research environments
- Strong expertise in ROS2, microROS, SLAM, Nav2, FreeRTOS, and Linux, with experience building high-performance robotics applications
- Hands-on experience with physical robotic systems, including sensor integration, actuator control, real-time control, and embedded robotics development
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python, with experience deploying applications on NVIDIA Jetson and ARM-based platforms
- Knowledge of force control, robotic manipulation, and embedded systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimise robotic performance
