Our client, a leading international banking group with an established footprint across Asia-Pacific, is seeking a high-performing Vice President / Executive Director to join its newly formed Institutional Equity Sales team in Hong Kong. Reporting directly to the Head of Institutional Equity Sales, this role will play a pivotal part in expanding the bank's equities franchise, driving institutional client monetization, and spearheading cross-border distribution efforts alongside the regional headquarters and Investment Banking Division.

Key Responsibilities

Account Management & Coverage: Own and manage key institutional equity accounts across Asia, delivering high-touch sales coverage, daily market commentary, trade ideas, and custom research insights.
Primary Equity Distribution: Partner closely with ECM, Research, and Sales Trading to market and distribute regional primary deals, including Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), equity placements, rights offerings, and preferential offerings.
Flow & Structured Execution: Source and execute block trade opportunities while expanding client access to broader equity products, including equity derivatives, securities financing/stock lending, and execution platforms.
Revenue Generation: Drive sustainable top-line revenue through secondary trading commissions and primary ECM brokerage fees.
Corporate & Analyst Access: Coordinate and participate in analyst marketing tours, corporate roadshows, and recurring macro/sector investment calls.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Global Markets, Investment Banking, Research, Operations, Legal, and Compliance to onboard strategic clients and address infrastructure or product gaps.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

Experience: Proven track record (8+ years for VP / 12+ years for ED) in Institutional Equity Sales covering APAC institutional accounts (long-only funds, hedge funds, sovereign wealth funds, and family offices).
Product Expertise: In-depth understanding of cash equities, ECM deal structures, block trades, derivatives, and capital markets mechanics.
Track Record: Demonstrated ability to originate business, generate commission flow, and monetize primary deal pipelines.
Regional Connectivity: Strong collaboration mindset with experience working effectively across matrix structures and regional head offices (particularly Southeast Asia).
Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of HKSFC regulatory requirements and operational frameworks governing institutional equities sales.
Leadership & Soft Skills: Highly entrepreneurial, self-motivated, with polished communication and cross-border stakeholder management skills.
