Our client is a leading Irish charity providing specialist services all throughout Ireland. They are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join them on a contract basis.

The Head Office is in Dublin City Centre and the role will be on a hybrid basis of 2 days in the office and 3 days remote. The role will report to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete ownership of accounts receivable function for the organisation ensuring state funders requirements are adhered too
• Preparation of journal entries and maintain accuracy and completeness of the general ledger
• Work to month end deadlines and preparation of month end reports
• Preparation of quarterly financial returns to funding authorities for review by management
• Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting with year-end audit process
• Assisting with internal audit process
• Ad hoc accounting and administrative work as required
• To attend and contribute to team and agency meetings as required
• To undertake other work that is assigned by the line manager or Director
• To participate in relevant training and development courses as agreed with your manager
• To be vigilant to any Health, Safety, and Welfare risks in the workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of your manager or Health & Safety Representative

Essential Criteria:

• Third level Degree in Accountancy, Commerce or a relevant field or extensive experience working in a Finance department
• Ambitious, energetic, and motivated individual
• Must have a "can do" attitude
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
• A team player with excellent attention to detail
• Be trustworthy and conduct the role with integrity

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in Exchequer would be an advantage
• Currently pursuing professional qualification in the area of Finance / Accounting
