As Value Domain Lead Payment Instruments & Merchant Services, you will be at the centre of this transformation.

You will lead one of the most strategically important payments domains within Transaction Banking, shaping the future of how clients pay and get paid. You will combine vision, commercial acumen, leadership and execution power to drive innovation across cards, cash, online payments and merchant services. The domain covers a broad portfolio of products, processes, applications and strategic partnerships and contributes materially to customer value, fee income and the future relevance of the bank in payments.

This is a role for a senior leader with a passion for payments who thrives in complexity, influences at the highest levels, and is passionate about creating meaningful impact for clients and society. Your job

You will be accountable for the strategic direction, performance and future development of the Payment Instruments & Merchant Services Value Domain. You understand the market, the technology, the regulations, the competitive landscape, and customer needs. More importantly, you know how to translate these developments into clear choices, customer value and measurable business outcomes.

A key success factor is how you enable the professionals in the teams within Payment Instruments & Merchant Services to thrive with alignment across those teams.

With this team of strong professionals, you will:

• Define and drive the vision and strategy for Payment Instruments & Merchant Services.
• Shape the future payment propositions around cards, cash, online payments, and merchant services.
• Lead the way towards performance improvements of our propositions financially, operationally and from a customer experience perspective.
• Represent the bank in strategic partnerships, external forums and industry initiatives.
• Anticipate market developments and regulatory changes and turn them into opportunities.
• Drive prioritisation and investment decisions with stakeholders across a broad portfolio of products and initiatives.
• Lead and inspire Product Owners (your direct reports), Business Developers and other colleagues within and outside the domain.
• Build a high-performing environment where ownership, innovation and collaboration flourish.
• Create the conditions for teams to perform at their best by providing direction, context and trust.

The Value Domain Payment Instruments & Merchant Services is part of the overarching Value Domain Transaction Services within the Value Stream Transaction Banking.

The domain is positioned at the intersection of customer needs, technology innovation, regulatory developments and industry transformation. It plays a critical role in Transaction Banking's ambition to deliver secure, accessible and relevant payment solutions whilst driving sustainable business outcomes.

Within the product areas of Cash, Cards, Online Payments and Merchant Services >10 BizDevOps teams act as end-to-end owners of products, processes, applications and external partnerships. Partners include among others Geldmaat, MasterCard, ICS and Wero with >100mio yearly contact value.

Your profile

You are an experienced leader with deep expertise in payments and a proven ability to navigate complex environments.

You bring:

• Experience leading large strategic portfolios with significant commercial and operational impact.
• The ability to develop a compelling vision and successfully translate strategy into execution.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including executive-level interaction.
• Experience working in regulated environments and managing complex risk and compliance considerations.
• You are comfortable operating in ambiguity and helping others navigate it. You ask the questions that bring clarity, insight and progress.
• A natural ability to inspire teams and create followership.
• An entrepreneurial mindset combined with strong delivery discipline.
• Strong experience in payments, with curiosity in payment developments.
• Proven track record in closing partnership agreements and managing the relationship and its performance.
