Location: Flexible within ArcelorMittal Europe Flat Products footprint (Belgium, France, Germany, Poland or Spain).




Role : Senior Maintenance Expert for Flat Europe clusters in CTO Maintenance and Reliability Team

• Maintenance expert role and bringing expertise to the reliability engineers in the plants


• Leading transversal working groups and our reliability networks


• Performing ARMP, WCM and/or safety audits


• Proximity lead for a cluster e.g. Poland, Germany, Belgium, France North, France South or Spain

Expert skills

• Committed to Health and Safety, Maintenance Operational Excellence in line of budget and cost control.


• Experienced Maintenance Engineer with over 15 years' experience in Maintenance of Steel Industry Facilities, specializing in Reliability, Lifecycle Management, Costs Performance of Heavy Industrial Equipment.


• Maintenance strategy developments tools: Root Causes Analysis (5 why, Quick Kaizen, Fishbone...), RCM, FMEA.


• Expert in developing and implementing Preventive and Predictive maintenance strategies to maximize Equipment uptime and ensure operational continuity in demanding environments.
  Strong background in Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Engineering with RCM2, FMEA, CMMS systems, DMS systems and compliance with Safety and Environmental standards.


• Heavy Equipment Process Technology related to Raw Material Handling, Sinter & Blast Furnaces, Steel plant, DRI, EAF Hot and Cold Rolling mills, Hot Dip Galvanizing, tinning lines and organic coating lines.

Soft skills

• Proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary maintenance teams, coordinating shutdowns and driving continuous improvement initiatives.


• Proven ability to lead international, cross-functional workgroups.


• Strong influencing and communication skills towards all levels in the organisation, from CEO, COO, department heads, reliability managers, to white and blue collar. The CTO role is (net)working and bringing experts together.


• Strong standardization, cost, maintenance excellence and safety awareness.


• Languages: fluent in English, and at least one of these local languages: French, German, Spanish, Polish or Dutch

Business Process and IT skills

• Proven experience with ARMP maintenance & reliability processes


• ARMP business processes and WCM 10 pillars


• Process safety and safety business processes


• SAP PM, MM, PS, FI, CO, BW, PowerBI, Excel


• Engineering Drawing and Document Management Systems


• Technical skills on at least some of our production assets (Coke plant, Sinter plant, BF, BOF, CC, HRM)


• Finance and Purchasing procedures (Budgeting, Procurement, Cost Control)


• Regulatory standards especially related to work in automated machines environment

• Develop and maintain an ArcelorMittal technology strategy fully encompassing all functional capabilities of Digitalization technologies


• CTO organization will maintain the highest level of technical expertise to ensure that all factors contributing to world class levels of reliability and quality and reduction of manufacturing related WIP are properly addressed

• Jointly with the local segments, assist in developing a technical competency strategy and help institute plans to pro-actively fill competency gaps leveraging expertise of the CTO team, segments, Global R&D and ArcelorMittal University


• Capitalizing on the inherent strengths of the Twinning concept help to assure that a system is in place to develop, assist in implementation and report out on actions to close gaps to benchmark
