Introduction

Investment Stewardship plays an important role in supporting long-term value creation across Temasek's investments. We advance strong governance practices, exercise our shareholder rights thoughtfully and engage portfolio companies and market participants on issues that influence sustainable business performance and shareholder value.

This role will primarily focus on voting and corporate governance. The successful candidate will oversee Temasek's voting framework and translate global governance and capital markets developments into stewardship priorities that support long-term value creation of our portfolio companies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess global market trends in corporate governance, proxy voting, shareholder rights and capital markets regulation, translating implications into policy positions, stewardship priorities and portfolio company engagement.
• Lead the implementation and refinement of Temasek's Voting Policy, market-specific guidelines and escalation framework, promoting clear, consistent and effective voting practices.
• Connect governance insights with investment and capital markets perspectives, identifying how board effectiveness, management incentives and disclosure can strengthen investor confidence and support long-term value creation.
• Leverage AI and technology to enhance voting processes and systems efficiency, scalability and insights.
• Engage and build relationship with institutional investors, proxy advisers, regulators, stock exchanges, governance bodies and other market participants.
• Collaborate across the organisation and deliver relevant guidance and training to strengthen stewardship and voting capabilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in corporate governance, investment stewardship, proxy voting, investing, asset management or capital markets. Candidates from adjacent fields such as legal, public policy and sustainability investing will also be considered.
• Strong knowledge of corporate governance frameworks, regulations and market practices across Asia, the Americas and Europe, including familiarity with proxy adviser guidelines.
• Strong interest in and understanding of capital markets, with the ability to connect governance issues to business performance, investor expectations and shareholder value.
• Strategic and analytical thinker with sound judgement and the ability to distil complex information into clear, actionable insights.
• Strong written, verbal and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior audiences.
• Is a self-starter, able to work independently and collaboratively across various stakeholders.
