Japanese Corporate Banking No.3 primarily serves the Singapore subsidiaries of major Japanese corporations and has an important mission to support the global expansion of their businesses, including in the APAC region, through banking services.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team responsible for the relationship management of Japanese multinational corporate clients, ensuring high service standards and sustainable business growth.
  • Develop and execute strategies to deepen relationships with existing clients and acquire new business opportunities, maximizing profitability across assigned portfolios.
  • Oversee the analysis of credit risk, preparation of credit proposals, documentation, and the setup of credit facilities, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive the execution of complex transactions, coordinating closely with product specialists, risk, and operations teams to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions.
  • Act as a primary liaison with key stakeholders, including overseas branches (especially Japan), Head Office, and relevant departments, to facilitate the delivery of integrated global financial solutions.
  • Lead client acquisition and marketing initiatives, employing a consultative and proposal-based approach to leverage the bank's network and product offerings.
  • Provide strategic oversight of portfolio planning, account management, and sector P&L, ensuring alignment with the bank's business objectives.
  • Check and approve various kinds of supplementary information sheets attached with credit application. (ex facility rating statement, credit supervision notification memo etc)
  • Supervise and support the completion of operational and compliance-related tasks, including KYC/CDD screening, processing of AFA and Mobius waivers, and timely response to client inquiries (e.g., remittance, FX, time deposits).
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging opportunities within the Japanese corporate sector.



Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in corporate banking, with a strong track record in relationship management and leadership roles.
  • In-depth understanding of capital markets, corporate banking products, and credit analysis, including the ability to assess financial statements and customer creditworthiness.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing Japanese multinational clients and a solid network within the Japanese corporate and financial community.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and business writing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese is required as the role requires regular interaction with Japanese clients, and Head Office in Japan.
  • Prior experience in a Japanese banking environment and familiarity with Japanese business culture will be advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities.
