Mizuho Bank, Ltd. is seeking an experienced and commercially driven professional to join our Global Transaction Banking Department in Singapore as Vice President, Transaction Banking Sales (Commodities).
The role focuses on developing and growing Mizuho's transaction banking services with commodity trading companies across energy, metals, mining and agricultural commodity sectors. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying client needs, originating new business and delivering tailored financing solutions spanning trade finance, foreign exchange (FX) and cash management.
This is a client-facing sales and solution-origination role, with a strong focus on revenue and P&L growth, relationship development and the delivery of financing solutions to commodity clients. The incumbent will work closely with Relationship Managers, Product Managers and internal stakeholders to develop and execute solutions that meet client's working capital, trade financing, liquidity and treasury requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Originate and grow transaction banking business with commodity trading clients across the energy, metals, mining and agricultural commodity sectors.
• Support the execution of client sales strategies to grow the Bank's wallet share, transaction volumes, fee income, net interest income and overall P&L.
• Identify client needs and originate and support transaction banking solutions in collaboration with relevant product and structuring teams, including bilateral trade and working capital facilities, supply chain solutions such as accounts receivables financing, structured trade financing including borrowing base, prepayment financing and other financing structures.
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell and integrate FX and cash management solutions alongside trade finance facilities.
• Collaborate with Structuring team to develop bespoke and structured trade finance transactions including preparation of client presentations, proposals, pitches and solution papers, including commercial terms, pricing and transaction structures.
• Engage Trade Risk Management and Monitoring team to assess transaction risks, and ensure appropriate risk controls and mitigants are incorporated.
• Coordinate with Legal, Compliance and Operations teams to facilitate timely execution and delivery of client solutions.
• Assist with negotiation of legal documentation including facility agreements, security documents, and transaction-specific documentation.
• Manage internal workflows, approvals and implementation process to ensure solutions are delivered to clients in a timely and effective manner.
• Work closely with relevant teams to resolve execution issues, remove implementation bottlenecks and support revenue realization.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in banking with substantial experience in transaction banking sales and trade finance.
• Experience in originating and growing business with commodity trading companies would be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of trade finance and working capital solutions including bilateral trade facilities, receivables purchase financing, borrowing base financing and structured trade finance etc.
• Good understanding of FX and cash management products, and the ability to identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Self-motivated, commercially minded and able to work independently as well as within a collaborative team environment.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Business, Economics or a related discipline.
