Driver & Warehouse Operative
SIX Group Glasgow, United KingdomDriver & Warehouse Operative
Glasgow | Full Time | 40 hours per week
Great wine doesn't move itself...
Tan&Ns is a Glasgow-based wine importer bringing seriously good bottles from independent producers across Europe and beyond to some of the UK's best restaurants, bars, hotels and retailers.
We find it. We import it. We sell it.
You'll help us get it where it needs to go.
We're looking for a Driver & Warehouse Operative to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role split between the warehouse and the road, making sure orders are picked, packed, loaded and delivered properly. One minute you'll be organising stock and preparing orders, the next you'll be out delivering wine to our customers.
It's fast-paced, physical and a pretty important part of what we do.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders accurately and on time
- Receiving, sorting, scanning and organising stock
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Delivering orders to customers
- Making sure the right wine, vintage and quantity gets to the right customer
- Organising and rotating stock
- Consolidating and wrapping orders ready for dispatch
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised warehouse
- Following safe systems of work, including manual handling procedures
- Opening and closing the warehouse when required
- Supporting the wider logistics team with general warehouse duties
And because we're a growing business, occasionally getting stuck into something that might not technically appear on the list above.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You don't need to be able to identify a Barolo from across the warehouse.
You do need to be reliable, switched on and happy to get your hands dirty.
You'll need:
- A full UK driving licence and the ability to meet our company vehicle insurance requirements
- Previous experience within a warehouse, logistics or delivery environment desirable
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- A flexible approach when things get busy
- The ability to safely lift and move cases of wine
- A forklift licence would be useful, but isn't essential as training can be provided
- Wine knowledge would be great, but it's absolutely not essential
More than anything, we want someone who takes pride in doing things properly.
Right bottle. Right customer. Right time.
WHAT YOU'LL GET
- Full-time, permanent employment
- 40 hours per week
- On-site parking
- Wagestream, giving you access to earned pay ahead of payday
- Hospitality Rewards after three months
- Bike2Work Scheme
- Training and development
- Career progression opportunities as the business grows
