Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and Business Partnering
GatenbySanderson Peterborough, United KingdomDirector of Financial Planning & Analysis and Business Partnering
As the Industry Training Board for construction sectors in England, Scotland and Wales, our role is to help the construction industry attract diverse new talent and support skills development to build a better Britain. This means engaging with and supporting the construction industry to invest in people and training, to ensure that the industry has the high-quality training and infrastructure required to sustain and develop a safe, professional and fully qualified workforce, and a productive and economically successful construction sector across the UK.
Levy funded by industry, and sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions, we are accountable to government ministers and ultimately Parliament, with a role to influence educational policy to ensure it reflects the needs of employers, now and in the future.
We operate across a complex stakeholder landscape as an executive non-departmental public body, and we are genuinely accountable to a complex stakeholder landscape, required to confirm ongoing industry support every three years through a Consensus process. Strong business performance is consequently critical. Success for CITB is being recognised by industry as an asset and an ally in ensuring that the skills the industry needs are available where and when they are needed.
As Director of FP&A / Business Partnering, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be well positioned to make a strong contribution to CITB's success moving forward, responsible for shaping and leading financial planning, forecasting, management accounting and business partnering capabilities, ensuring that strategic priorities, investment decisions and resource allocation are underpinned by robust financial insight. Working closely with the Executive Team, Board and senior leaders, you will bring challenge, analysis and commercial acumen to support better decision-making, stronger accountability and greater organisational performance. At the same time, you will help develop the future operating model of the finance function, building a modern, high-performing capability that delivers genuine strategic value.
We are looking for a qualified finance professional with significant leadership experience across FP&A, strategic planning, business partnering or corporate finance, and a track record of supporting executive-level decision-making, leading organisational change and developing high-performing teams. Equally important will be your ability to build trusted relationships, communicate complex issues with clarity and influence stakeholders across a diverse and complex environment. While experience within the public sector, infrastructure, education or regulated sectors would be advantageous, we are equally interested in candidates whose expertise and leadership credentials have been developed in other environments.
This is a rare opportunity to contribute to an organisation with a clear public purpose and a direct impact on the future of the construction industry. If you are motivated by the opportunity to shape a function, influence strategic outcomes and help deliver lasting value for industry, we would be delighted to hear from you.
