Position Overview
Our client, a respected and growing multi-family office, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join its team in Baltimore. This individual will work closely with high-net-worth families and related entities, supporting day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, cash management, and tax and estate planning initiatives. The role offers broad exposure to complex financial structures and the opportunity to serve as a trusted resource to clients and internal stakeholders.
Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities
- Develop a thorough understanding of client financial structures, including trusts, partnerships, LLCs, and other related entities.
- Oversee cash flow activity, payroll processing, tax payments, and insurance-related matters.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation within established filing systems.
- Manage accounts payable processes and track investment-related activity.
- Assist with special accounting projects and client-specific financial initiatives.
- Prepare and maintain personal and entity financial statements using QuickBooks.
- Perform consolidations across multiple entities and ownership structures.
- Create customized reports, cash flow analyses, forecasts, and other ad hoc financial reporting as requested.
- Gather, organize, and maintain documentation for tax preparation and compliance purposes.
- Ensure executed trust, estate, and financial documents are properly maintained and securely stored.
- Support tax planning and wealth management initiatives alongside internal and external advisors.
- Assist with various internal accounting, finance, HR, and operational projects as needed.
- Contribute to process improvements and support a collaborative, client-focused culture.
- Participate in special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Senior Accountant Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 2+ years of accounting or finance experience.
- Experience working with multiple entities, investment accounts, or high-net-worth clients is a plus.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
- Self-starter who can work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
