VP Tax
Location: New York City
Job Type: Hybrid, 4 days in office
Salary: $125-250k Base + Bonus
Client/Job Summary:
Our client is an international bank looking for a VP of Tax to join their tax team and support tax reporting and compliance for the firm.
This role blends U.S. tax information reporting and withholding responsibilities with corporate tax compliance, tax accounting, and process improvement initiatives. The position offers significant visibility across finance, technology, and operations teams, with the opportunity to help modernize and enhance the tax function.
The ideal candidate has experience in corporate tax compliance, tax provisions, and information reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support U.S. tax information reporting and withholding activities, including tax documentation review and annual reporting requirements.
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax compliance filings.
- Assist with quarterly tax provision work and related financial reporting.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external advisors on tax matters and audits.
- Improve tax reporting processes, controls, and data management workflows.
- Drive automation and technology initiatives to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Key Qualifications:
- 4-15+ years of tax experience within public accounting, bank, or financial services.
- Experience with U.S. tax compliance, tax provisions, tax accounting, and reporting.
- Exposure to tax documentation, withholding, and information reporting is preferred.
- Strong technical, analytical, technology, and data skills.
- Bachelor's degree required; Accounting or Tax specialization preferred.
- Experience with Excel, PowerBI, Alteryx, and GoSystem/Fast-Tax highly preferred.
