Description
As an Accounts Semi-Senior, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Director and Portfolio Managers by delivering high-quality accounts services. You will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and providing expert advice to meet their needs. Key Responsibilities
• This role involves managing a wide range of accounting services including statutory accounts, tax compliance, management accounts, and advisory support.
• Act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients.
• Representing the firm professionally, communicating clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Understanding client needs, and delivering high-quality, value-driven advice and services, with a focus on excellence, innovation, and future-oriented solutions.
• Ensure all accounts and related work are completed accurately, efficiently and to the highest professional, technical and regulatory standards.
• Meeting agreed deadlines and maintaining a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with senior team members to ensure client deliverables are met within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Contribute to team activities and improvements in workflows, processes, efficiencies and quality controls to enhance business and client services.
• Participate in continuous learning and professional development to maintain and update technical knowledge and comply with CPD requirements.
• Handle personal and corporation tax computations as part of the accounts preparation process.
• Manage, support and mentor Junior Assistants, allocating work and monitoring progress.
• Provide on-the-job training and guidance to develop technical and professional skills within the team.
• Ensure deadlines are met by planning and prioritising workloads effectively.
• Act as a positive role model, promoting teamwork, accountability and high performance.
Key Requirements
• Part ACA/ACCA/ATT qualified, or equivalent (or actively working towards qualification).
• Previous 3 years' experience within an accountancy practice, particularly in accounts preparation and personal tax, is required.
• Experience using accounting and tax software such as IRIS, CCH, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent or similar.
Additional Requirements
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to understand client needs and deliver professional, high-quality service.
• A dependable, self-motivated team player, able to manage tasks with minimal supervision.
