The role
As a Senior Manager in the Compliance Team, you will report to the Head of Compliance, and be responsible for a number of important administrative tasks and provide support to the MLCO which will ultimately enable the Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Compliance Officer to provide robust management information to the boards of the Apex regulated entities.

The role
As a Senior Manager in the Compliance Team, you will report to the Head of Compliance, and be responsible for a number of important administrative tasks and provide support to the MLCO which will ultimately enable the Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Compliance Officer to provide robust management information to the boards of the Apex regulated entities.
Key responsibilities
Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist with ad-hoc compliance matters including but notlimited to regulatory matters as they arise;
- Oversee the completion of AML Questionnaires and Letters;
- Oversee with requests regarding reliance visits and queriesand attend meetings as required;
- Oversee the collation of supporting statistical informationwhen required from time to time;
- Oversee the Screening process as performed byCompliance administrator(s);
- Monitoring of the Compliance registers to ensure that theyare completed in a timely manner and for accuracy;
- Support the Money Laundering Compliance Officer byundertaking appropriate monitoring and testing ofcompliance of the relevant person's compliance withlegislation;
- Assisting with ensuring that there are adequate systemsand controls (including policies and procedures) formonitoring compliance with, and testing the effectivenessof policies and procedures, particularly those relating toMoney Laundering, the Financing of Terrorism and the JFSCAML/CFT/CPF Handbook;
- Identify areas where processes can be improved andsuggest these to senior management before implementingFinancial Crime Prevention ("FCP") / AML Support to thebusiness;
- Oversee the Compliance mailboxes and respond andallocate to team members;
- Liaise with Apex employees on day-to-day regulatorymatters and assist with queries regarding relevant laws,orders or codes of practice;
- Oversee the implementation and maintain the InternalCompliance Induction Training Programme;
- Be willing to undertake or assist in any project work that isidentified and be willing to get involved with APEX Groupinitiatives in relation to regulatory issues, liaising withSenior Members of the team as and when required;
- Be able to assist other team members where required;
- Assist with other duties to support the Senior Members ofthe Apex Compliance Function from time to time;
- Oversee/complete AD-HOC projects as and when required .
Management Responsibilities
- Manage own workload and prioritieseffectively and leading a team of people;
- Contribute to the development of theteam members;
- Assist the teams to draft their goals andKPI's and have regular catch-up sessionsto show their progress;
- Guide and coach the team if they are noton track with their goals;
- Ensure that timesheets are approvedtimeously;
- Ensure that the teams complete all mandatory training. Encourage the team to attend training and seminars related to their role.
Skills / Experience
- Sufficient experience and skills which include, holding an appropriate (as determined by the registered person) compliance or other professional qualification or be studying towards such a qualification;
- a sound knowledge of the Financial Services (Jersey)Law 1998, any orders issued under the Law;
- a sound knowledge of the Codes of Practice for Fund Services Business and Trust Company Business;
- a sound knowledge of other regulatory and legislative requirements applicable to the business undertaken by the relevant persons;
- a sound knowledge of the Jersey Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism legislation and any ordersissued under those laws;
- a sound knowledge of The Handbook for the Prevention and Detection of Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism;
- full awareness of their own obligations and those of the relevant persons under the laws mentioned above as well as the Terrorism Law, the Directions Law, Terrorist Sanctions Measures;
- leadership ability with excellent communication skills. You are self-motivated and capable of prioritising workloads as required;
