In 2020, LCP launched its Health practice, providing analytical and research services across healthcare and life sciences. Our team brings together clinicians, statisticians, epidemiologists, health economists and health data scientists, alongside LCP's established actuarial, analytics and technology expertise, to develop innovative solutions to some of the most important challenges in health.

We have grown rapidly in response to strong demand for our services and are now looking for a Market Access Analyst to help scale our delivery capability.

Our Health work:

LCP's Health team works globally across the healthcare and life sciences markets, combining health expertise with innovative approaches from our work in other sectors to tackle leading health issues.

Examples of the types of projects that the Market Access team undertake for our clients include:
  • Providing strategic recommendations on global clinic trial design to enable HTA and reimbursement success
  • Payer evidence needs and gap analysis
  • Identifying optimal routes for access in different markets
  • Market Access/pricing/reimbursement strategy development
  • Landscape assessments, including healthcare system, pricing and reimbursement, competitive and HTA landscape
  • HTA strategy and submission support
  • Payer insights gathering including validation of market access strategies through primary market research
  • Strategic and tactical pricing research/analysis, including global pricing, contracting and gross-to-net and revenue forecast modelling
  • Payer environment shaping to recognise broader elements of value
  • Strategic payer value communication development
  • Trade and Channel strategy support, including channel operations reviews and distribution assessments (US-focused)
  • Patient Support Services design, implementation and optimisation (US-focused)
  • Due diligence support, including business development and in/out licensing evaluation

Key responsibilities:

As an Analyst in LCP Health's Market Access team, you will be involved in a diverse range of projects, covering both client and non-client work. Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Conduct targeted secondary research utilising a wide variety of sources to address specific research questions i.e., understand disease and competitor landscape, current treatment pathways, pricing and reimbursement processes etc.
  • Conduct thorough payer research and analysis to identify opportunities and challenges for client products in various healthcare markets
  • Systematically search for qualitative and quantitative evidence to make strategic recommendations for clients
  • Help develop market access strategies, including pricing and reimbursement strategies, to optimise product commercialisation
  • Support the development of value messages, dossiers and other related payer value communication materials e.g. payer value decks, toolkits and internal training materials
  • Support the preparation of client-facing presentations and reports, effectively communicating complex market access concepts to diverse audiences
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines to deliver high-quality work to agreed timelines and standards
  • Demonstrate and develop your expertise by contributing to thought leadership activities

Skills, experience and qualities required:
  • A 2:1 (or better) degree in a life sciences focused subject, with a science/health related Masters or PhD being desirable
  • At least 1 year experience in a market access role in the healthcare and/or life sciences industry
  • Demonstrable experience of working across global markets and a good knowledge of health economic concepts
  • Knowledge of pricing and reimbursement processes and pathways in key global markets, including but not limited to, the EU14, UK and US
  • Knowledge of how a healthcare product is likely to be priced along with an understanding of concepts such as value-based pricing, price referencing, MFN, HTA etc.
  • Ability to translate research and analysis into clear, practical and actionable insights
  • Ability to support the delivery of projects to agreed timescales
  • Excellent grounding in scientific research principles, with the ability to generate hypotheses, gather insights through literature review/desk research and synthesise your findings into carefully crafted reports that address specific research questions
  • Initiative and creativity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills alongside excellent presenting skills
  • Commitment to producing the highest quality of work in the given timescales, this may on occasion require some extra hours
