Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is hiring a Full-Time Unarmed Transit Safety Officer to support evening public transportation operations in Glenwood Springs. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment aboard city buses and throughout designated passenger loading areas while providing outstanding customer service to riders, transit employees, and visitors.

The ideal candidate is dependable, approachable, and comfortable working in a public-facing environment where professionalism, awareness, and effective communication are essential.

Primary Responsibilities

Passenger & Transit Safety

• Maintain a visible security presence aboard transit vehicles and at designated loading zones.
• Help promote a safe atmosphere for passengers, drivers, transit employees, and visitors.
• Observe daily transit operations and report safety concerns or suspicious activity.
• Assist in maintaining orderly boarding and unloading procedures.

Public Interaction

• Greeting passengers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Provide general assistance and directions when appropriate.
• Promote compliance with transit policies through respectful communication.
• Help resolve minor concerns using strong customer service and de-escalation techniques.

Patrol & Incident Response

• Conduct routine patrols of assigned transit areas and surrounding public spaces.
• Respond appropriately to disturbances, medical situations, or security-related concerns.
• Notify supervisors or emergency responders when additional assistance is necessary.
• Follow all client procedures and company operational standards.

Reporting & Documentation

• Complete daily activity reports and incident documentation accurately.
• Record unusual events, safety observations, and operational concerns.
• Maintain consistent communication with supervisors throughout the shift.
• Handle sensitive information professionally and confidentially.
