Construction/General Liability Associate Attorney
New York City, White Plains, Long Island (Hybrid)
A well-established national law firm is seeking a Construction/General Liability Associate Attorney to join its growing New York City, White Plains, or Long Island office. This opportunity offers exposure to a diverse litigation practice, including construction work, New York Labor Law matters, premises liability, transportation/trucking, casualty, and general liability defense.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to join a collaborative team with strong mentorship, hands-on litigation experience, and a clear path for long-term growth within a highly regarded litigation practice.
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a caseload involving construction litigation, general liability, casualty, transportation, and insurance defense matters.
- Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, court appearances, mediations, and trial preparation.
- Work closely with partners and clients to develop case strategy and achieve favorable outcomes.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and provide case updates and legal guidance.
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school.
- Active admission in New York.
- 4+ years of litigation experience.
- Experience handling insurance defense, construction litigation, premises liability, transportation, or general liability matters.
- Familiarity with New York Labor Law §§ 200, 240, and 241 is highly preferred.
- Deposition and court appearance experience required.
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage files while working collaboratively within a team environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range: $160,000 - $190,000, depending on experience.
- Hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote).
