Are you a technically strong Financial Accountant looking for a broad and hands-on role within a growing ASX-listed organisation? We are partnering with a small-cap listed business seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to support the CFO and play a key role in financial reporting, compliance, audit management and commercial finance initiatives.

Your new role
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take ownership of core financial reporting activities, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant reporting across the group. You will work closely with the leadership team, external auditors and key stakeholders while contributing to process improvement and business performance initiatives.
- Lead the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, provisions and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and variance analysis.
- Support cash flow forecasting and reporting activities.
- Coordinate quarterly, half-year and annual financial reporting requirements for an ASX-listed environment.
- Manage the external audit process from planning through to completion.
- Oversee payroll reconciliations and related provisions.
- Prepare and review GST, PAYG, FBT, payroll tax and other statutory obligations.
- Manage inventory and fixed asset accounting, reconciliations and reporting.
- Maintain strong financial controls, accounting policies and finance procedures.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, process improvement and other finance projects.
- Provide commercial insights and financial analysis to support business decision-making.
- CA or CPA qualified & 5+ years' experience in financial accounting or external audit.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and statutory reporting requirements.
- Experience within an ASX-listed company and hands-on statutory reporting experience
- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capability.
- Experience using Xero or similar accounting systems. Exposure to Power BI or finance dashboard reporting is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work autonomously in a remote environment.
- Salary package of $120,000 - $130,000 + Super.
- Remote working arrangement (Melbourne) with occasional travel required.
- Direct exposure to the CFO and executive leadership team.
