We are looking for an Application Support Engineer to join a leading financial institution's electronic trading desk in Hong Kong. The team maintains equities & derivatives trading platforms used by traders across APAC markets. In this role, you will maintain the stability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical trading systems.
Main Responsibilities- Maintain trading applications for Equities & Derivatives Trading/Pricing (Stocks, ETF, Warrants, Options & Futures) across APAC markets on Linux platform
- Assist traders directly – troubleshoot and diagnose functional and technical issues in the production environment
- Track daily production problems and user requests; drive timely resolution and clear communication to the client; escalate bugs to local / overseas development teams
- Drive business-initiated or exchange-driven projects
- Run system Quality Assurance testing; deploy or upgrade mission-critical trading applications and systems
- Monitor system performance and operation; diagnose and resolve problems
- Follow ITIL Application Support methodology for incident escalation and system change management
- Write system and process documentation
- Cover morning / lunch shift duty, weekend and holiday work as per rotation
- University degree with IT Major
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in trading support
- Strong business knowledge of cash and derivatives products and market rules
- Experience with system monitoring
- Strong technical / scripting knowledge in Linux/Unix environment
- Proficiency in Python on Linux and Windows
- Batch processing systems (preferred)
- Knowledge of Equities Derivatives pricing methods (preferred)
- Self-starter, results-driven
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Ability to innovate
- Strong team collaboration
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent in English
