Project Accountant



Our client, a leading international building envelope contractor delivering major projects across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe, is currently seeking a
qualified Project Accountant to join their Finance team on an initial
6+ month contract .



This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys working on
finance transformation, systems, process improvement and financial controls . You will work closely with the
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and key stakeholders across the business, taking ownership of important Finance initiatives and helping to deliver practical improvements across the Group.




The Role



As Project Accountant, you will play a key role in reviewing and improving Finance processes, supporting systems implementation and strengthening financial controls and governance.



Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing existing Finance processes and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and controls.


• Supporting the implementation and optimisation of Finance systems, including process design, testing and user support.


• Developing and implementing Finance policies, procedures and SOPs.


• Supporting the enhancement of financial controls, approval processes and governance frameworks.


• Assisting with VAT, indirect tax and other financial compliance projects across the Group.


• Supporting Finance requirements associated with new business initiatives, organisational changes and new entity set-ups.


• Working collaboratively with Finance and wider business stakeholders to deliver projects within agreed timelines.


• Identifying process inefficiencies and control gaps and implementing practical solutions.


• Maintaining accurate project, process and systems documentation.

About You



We are looking for a
qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with approximately
3 years' plus post-qualified experience .



You will ideally have experience in a Group Finance, financial control, finance transformation or similar environment, together with:

• Experience in finance systems implementation, process improvement or finance transformation.


• Strong knowledge of accounting processes and financial controls.


• Experience developing SOPs, policies and process documentation.


• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems/ERP platforms.


• Experience managing projects and working with multiple stakeholders.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.


• A pragmatic, hands-on approach with the ability to take ownership and deliver results.


• Excellent attention to detail, combined with an understanding of the wider commercial and business context.

Experience with
VAT, indirect tax and/or payroll taxes across multiple jurisdictions would be advantageous but is not essential.
