Our client is a private equity fund manager looking to hire a Finance Manager to take ownership of fund and corporate accounting for their Singapore platform.
The role reports directly into the COO/CFO. Fund accounting is run entirely in-house, so the scope spans financial reporting, valuation support and compliance rather than oversight of an external administrator. It would suit an audit-trained accountant who has since moved into a hands-on finance role and enjoys breadth over narrow specialisation.
Responsibilities for the Finance Manager:
- Maintain the books and records of the funds and management entities, including quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Support valuation work, NAV preparation and investor allocations, working closely with the investment team.
- Manage capital calls, distributions, investor reporting and cash flow forecasting.
- Oversee statutory audits, tax filings and regulatory and compliance submissions, liaising with auditors, tax agents, bankers and corporate secretarial providers.
- Supervise and develop a small finance team, reviewing their work and setting priorities.
- Support budgeting and management reporting.
- Work directly with senior management on finance matters and projects.
Requirements for the Finance Manager:
- Degree in Accountancy or a related discipline, with CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience, with a foundation in external audit.
- Subsequent experience in fund accounting, fund administration or sell side finance, ideally with exposure to private markets.
- Comfortable operating hands-on across full set accounts, fund reporting and compliance matters.
- Experience managing a small team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders directly.
