About the Client:
Our client is a well-established investment bank with a strong presence in capital markets and brokerage operations. They are currently seeking an experienced Treasury Operations Manager to oversee receipts and payments functions (Cash in and out), ensuring robust control over client funds, settlements, and regulatory compliance. This role offers exposure to a fast-paced trading environment with close interaction across operations, treasury, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Payments & Settlements: Oversee all receipt and payment activities, including client fund settlements, securities transactions, margin payments, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Regulatory Compliance & Controls: Ensure full adherence to MAS, SGX, and AML/CFT requirements, while strengthening internal controls to mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Stakeholder & Cross-functional Management: Liaise with banks, SGX, and clearing houses, and partner closely with Credit, Compliance, Treasury, and Operations to ensure seamless fund flows and operational alignment.
- Team Leadership & Issue Resolution: Lead and develop the payments team, while managing escalations related to failed transactions, discrepancies, and client fund transfers.
- Process Optimisation & Reporting: Drive automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency and control, and deliver insightful reporting to senior management on fund movements and operational performance, including support for ad hoc initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in finance operations, preferably within brokerage, capital markets, or financial institutions. Hands-on experience in payments, settlements, or client money handling is essential.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong familiarity with MAS and SGX regulations, as well as AML/CFT requirements.
- Skills: Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Proven ability to manage teams and operate in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
- Systems: Experience with financial systems, payment platforms, and reconciliation tools; exposure to automation initiatives is advantageous.
