VP Operations Business Analyst

This ambitious initiative spans multiple product lines including Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income, and other cross-asset classes, offering you the opportunity to be at the heart of strategic change within the industry. As a Vice President Operations Business Analyst, your expertise will be pivotal in shaping seamless workflows, optimising processes, and ensuring that every aspect of the integration delivers exceptional results.

The initial planning phase is set for six months, with the potential for a full-scale programme lasting up to two years-providing you with both immediate impact and long-term growth opportunities. You will enjoy working alongside knowledgeable teams across technology, risk, compliance, and operations, all committed to delivering excellence. Flexible working opportunities and exposure to high-profile projects make this role an outstanding step forward in your career.

  • Play a critical role in a strategic integration project between two global capital market entities, impacting Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income, and cross-asset classes.
  • Work closely with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams to optimise operational workflows and deliver actionable solutions for business integration.
  • Benefit from flexible working opportunities and ongoing professional development while contributing to a high-profile transformation programme within financial services.

What you'll do:

As a Vice President Operations Business Analyst you will be immersed in a dynamic environment where your analytical skills are valued at every stage of the integration process. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with stakeholders from both entities to understand their unique operational needs. You will document business requirements meticulously and transform them into practical solutions that facilitate smooth integration across Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income, and other asset classes. By leveraging your extensive experience in financial services operations-including cash flows, settlements, custody operations, payments, and asset servicing-you will identify areas for optimisation and propose improvements that support the strategic vision of the programme. Working alongside cross-functional teams such as technology, risk, compliance, and operations ensures that every system and process is integrated seamlessly. You will also play a vital role in testing new workflows post-integration to ensure they meet accuracy standards. Regular engagement with senior management keeps everyone aligned on progress while supporting change management initiatives helps users adapt smoothly to new ways of working. Monitoring performance after implementation allows you to recommend further enhancements so that the integration continues delivering value.

  • Collaborate extensively with stakeholders across both entities to gain deep understanding of operational workflows, processes, and requirements essential for successful integration.
  • Document comprehensive business requirements and translate them into actionable solutions that drive effective integration across multiple asset classes.
  • Leverage your strong financial services operations experience to analyse and optimise processes related to cash flows, settlements, custody operations, payments, and asset servicing.
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in current operations and propose improvements that align with the overarching goals of the integration programme.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including technology, operations, risk, and compliance to ensure seamless integration of systems and processes across FX, Fixed Income, and other asset classes.
  • Assist in testing and validating new workflows or systems post-integration to guarantee accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Engage regularly with senior management and project leaders to provide updates on progress, challenges, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Support change management initiatives by preparing documentation and training materials for end-users impacted by new processes or systems.
  • Monitor key performance indicators post-integration to assess effectiveness of implemented solutions and recommend further enhancements as needed.

What you bring:

Your background as a Vice President Operations Business Analyst equips you with invaluable experience gained from at least eight years within financial services operations. You bring deep knowledge of cash flows, settlements, custody operations, payments, and asset servicing-skills that are crucial for identifying opportunities for optimisation during complex integrations. Your analytical abilities allow you to spot inefficiencies quickly while your attention to detail ensures nothing is overlooked when documenting requirements or validating new workflows. Communication is one of your strengths; you connect easily with stakeholders from different backgrounds which helps foster collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. Managing competing priorities comes naturally thanks to your dependability under pressure. Experience working alongside cross-functional teams means you understand how technology interacts with risk management or compliance functions-making you an integral part of any integration effort. Your ability to translate business needs into actionable solutions supports successful delivery while familiarity with testing procedures guarantees accuracy post-integration. Understanding change management principles allows you to nurture end-users through transitions so everyone benefits from improved processes.

  • Minimum 8+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst within financial services operations is required for this role.
  • Expertise in analysing cash flows, settlement processes, custody operations, payments, and asset servicing is essential for success.
  • Excellent analytical skills paired with meticulous attention to detail enable you to identify gaps and optimise complex workflows effectively.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary for interacting with diverse stakeholders across multiple entities during integration projects.
  • Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities ensures you remain dependable throughout fast-moving phases of the programme.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as technology, risk management, compliance, and operations enhances your impact on integration outcomes.
  • Proven track record in documenting business requirements clearly and translating them into actionable solutions supports seamless project delivery.
  • Familiarity with testing new workflows or systems post-integration demonstrates your commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
