Cloud / DevOps Engineer (AWS), Macro Hedge Fund, London [Onsite]
We are working with a macro fixed income hedge fund that are looking to hire a cloud / DevOps engineer to join their growing team. They are a high-performing group that enjoys a strong track record of performance and strong staff retention. They also demonstrate a culture of high-ownership and, with this role in mind, an appetite for those with breadth in experience.
In this role, the focus is to support and deliver the firm’s migration from private cloud infrastructure to AWS, working to ensure a smooth and secure transition of business-critical systems. You’ll work closely with engineering and quant teams to build, automate, and support the firm’s future cloud platform. The immediate team tasked with the outlined migration is very lean. Therefore, they need a hands-on individual who is proactive, experienced across the full cloud ecosystem and willing to wear many hats in the process.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver the firm's migration from private cloud infrastructure to AWS.
- Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using DevOps, automation, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Partner with Technology, Quant teams, and external consultants to deliver scalable cloud solutions.
- Support, optimise and troubleshoot cloud environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience in a Cloud, DevOps, Platform, or Infrastructure Engineering role.
- Hands-on AWS experience and a strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD and automation.
- Experience delivering or supporting cloud migration projects from private cloud or on-prem environments.
- Strong academic background: buy-side experience is preferred but not essential.
