SG expands sales team
Société Générale has expanded its HK$77.7bn fund of hedge fund business with the hire of three regional sales heads. It has transferred a fourth from Paris to Hong Kong.
Alastair Smith has joined from Aspect Capital, a UK hedge fund manager, to become head of European and Middle East hedge fund sales.
Hidehiro Nakayama has become head of hedge fund sales in Japan. He was previously at Sakura, a Japanese asset manager.
Todd Ladda, in New York, will lead the sales team in the US. He joined from Alkeon Capital Management, an asset manager, where he was responsible for hedge fund sales.
Christophe Lalo has moved from Paris to Hong Kong to increase his focus as regional head of hedge fund sales and marketing for Asia-Pacific excluding Japan.
The French bank said it doubled the assets in its fund of hedge funds business last year.
Philippe Brosse, chief executive of Société Générale Asset Management alternative investments, said: "The creation of a high-level, specialised sales force emphasises our ambition to accelerate our growth in this asset class."
